The Week in Fish Pictures~ Year 2# Week#41

Welcome from Northern New Hampshire and a remote location for the Krane family vacation! I know I’m a bit early but I’m on vacation and this is the only time and place I could do this. No cell phones or laptops after today!  I want to thank all of the great contributors who really show not only great talent and work but rather give such inspiration to all of us!
A great week Fishheads!

Almost done with the Great big fish in NY. It is finally looking spectacular and grand, as it has meant to be all along! I really can’t wait my self until it is done. Next week will be the last days of the nearly 2 years project. This personally has been some of hardest changeling work I have been a part of in my career. It has been an education and a rewarding experience working to bring back the largest piece of taxidermy and fish mount in the world back to a vision of grand magnitude. I have been writing an article for Breakthrough during this process over the past 2 years I sure hope it depicts the efforts so many have made to bring this historical fish back for the ruins. I can’t wait to share the work of the team and the talent of some many who worked on this effort.

Been a wonderful week for The Week in Fish Pictures WOW!  With every great week we all shared in the work we do as taxidermists with our fish pictures! There was some really inspirational fish work last week I hope you all had a great week my friends and family of Fishheads!!! Lets start off with some Big time thanks to our great contributors this past week!!

Here’s a big hats off to the contributors who shared their talents! Terry Weick, Joe Miles, Charlie Walker, Randal R. Waites, Mike Bush, Joey Arender, Jonny, Don Patton, Travis Jones, Josh Knuth, Dbess, Chad See, Topnotch, Doug A, Ollie (Red Stag), Clete, Just fish, Dave Smith and Craig W!!!!!!!

From beginner's to the best in the world we all join in every week in a critique free and hassle free string with nothing more then great artist and inspiring fish taxidermist and carves get together to share with one another their praise and inspiration of good will and friendship to one another.

I thought I would start the week with a recent Anglers Artistry student Mr. Kyle Fleet of Byron Center Michigan. This was Kyle’s first experience with taxidermy. When Kyle got here he re- reminded me he had never airbrushed or skinned a fish before I told his it was ok I had never taught a fish class before. After getting over his shock we both set forth on a workshop where I got to experience some one very first experience doing there first 2 fish ever! A great guy with a boatload of talent! Kyle is an art student and is studying metal fabrications and bronze work. This talented young artist had already secured his first commission work of art! Here is a beautiful Bass and a Brookie Kyle did while here for a week. Great work Kyle!

So here goes!

I hope you enjoy the week!
So with out further ado lets get week #41 under way.

So here we go and here is to a great week in fish pictures!!!! #41! Enjoy!

My Best!
Your Friend
Rick Krane

Here is Kyle and his Bass at the airport ready to go home I don’t think he wanted to let this one go!

Kyle’s Brookie!

Kyle’s is pleased with his efforts!

Fishstuffer, you are a freak!!!  Very very nice pike.  I always enjoy viewing your work.  Well done.  I have a small 36"personal pike to do someday, and I hope it somewhat resembles that one!!!

WOW.

Here is the former world record Shortnose Gar.
I caught it years back and held the record for about a year. The fish was sitting here unpainted and unfinished for years.
I Cleaned it up, altered the mouth and finally finished her. Now I need a longnose to go with her. Cheesy

Skin mount.

LMB I just finished.  A friend gave it to me for practice.  Not very big but it went belly up on him after he released it so he saved it for me.  I also have it on another post for critique, its my first attempt at carving my own body and 2nd try at painting a LMB.
