river rocks

Hi I would like to make some river rocks,I have carved some out of foam .But I am looking for a smooth look.do you use something to cover the foam.Thanks Scott.

you can cover with a number of products,thinned bondo/resin, epoxie, plaster,sac-crete, but I have found the best way to get real looking rocks is to make a latex mold of the rock and pour a thin shelled cast with aplastic casting compound and then fill this shell with 2 part foam. paul
