Hello every one, can somebody give me a bit of advice on cleaning a trout skin before painting the fins have been carded and the hole thing is dry ,its got glue all over it and putty smears on it as well so any help would be grate thanks heaps

Sounds pretty rough so i would suggest just taking a brush to it and make it as presentable as possable..

If I understand your question correctly, simply wipe the fish down with a moist cloth after mounting.  Or, if you notice something after drying you can wipe it down with Denatured Alcohol and work your way up to some stronger chemicals if need be (laquer thinner, acetone). However if it's just a water-based glue and it's dry you can use a spray bottle to soften the glue and then wipe it off. You may even have to wet some paper towels and wrap the area and let ot sit to rehydrate it, then wipe off...
