Rocky Mountain National Park

I went to Estes Park on Thursday. Beautiful little town. Went up & over the pretty mountains. Kid took these pictures on the way back.
Here they are...some critters...there were 100's of chipmunks on the rocks...a herd of about 50-75 cows...8 bulls when I drove through the first time, 6 when I came back...some mountains...some guy being stupid with a cow elk 20 feet away...
DANG that the camera doesn't take better pictures.
I'm thinking I need to UPGRADE as many as I've been taking...
Oh well...I hope someone finds them useful.
Oh oh oh...let's get a picture of me & an elk!
OH OH OH! I better RUN! (She just wanted to snuggle...yep...snuggle.

Nice pics Lisa, my wife and I went thru Estes and RMNP 2 years ago, just an awesome place to visit. We're headed back out again in 3 weeks for the opening of Archery elk season. Will be making another detour thru RMNP.

My parents just love that area. They have gone there just about every year at least once since my sister moved out over 10 years ago. They have basically said if it wasn't for the grandkids they would for sure retire there.

Hey CHT...at least I didn't post the San Juan's...you know I have a bunch of them right?
Snow still on them...
As for RMNP, it cost $20 for a single car to come in...the traffic was HORRIBLE...A LOT of the trees have suffered & died from beetle kill...but we saw mule deer, grouse, an owl, all these elk, hawks...the kid saw a coyote...camp robbers, squirrels, chipmunks...all SORTS of critters. We could have gotten out & walked all over if we'd wanted to. I think I saw a moose but she was way off in the trees & I couldn't zoom in close enough to tell for sure. Might have been a really dark cow elk. Anyways...pretty place. I'd like to go back in the fall with a better camera.
