Hey this is my first pheasant, and was wondering what yall think.  I thought I would get yalls response on it while it was drying.  I still need to paint the beak, and finish my habitat, but please let me know what you think.  Josh

Josh,
For a first pheasant it is nice. What are you using for reference? What is the bird doing? It looks frightened to me. Very tight plumage. Pull the neck up towards the head more to get a fuller neck. Get the ears in the right place  and the tufts up on the back of the head. Check reference and taxi feather groups into position. Pheasants are hard and require a lot of taxiing and good reference. I would be happy with it if it were my first bird.

For the most part, for being your first, it looks good.  I'm from SD and see alot of them.  To me the eyes are too bright and open.  Add a little shape to them.  The neck is too far back, pheasants tend to stand more up and long necked.  The wattles are spread out to far.  The scaps need to be tighter and the overall position is not charateristic to a pheasant.  JMO.  Your on the right track though.  Study refrence photos and keep plucking away.  Good job!!!
