Skulls and Skeletons / Re: Freezing
« Last post by Skulltastic on Today at 12:36:00 AM »
I have no experience freezing first but I think a good sugestion would be at minimum to remove the brain first. I like to remove it ASAP it just seems like it wants to bleed fat and oil into the bone.

Tanning / Problem with fleshing blades
« Last post by brady761 on Today at 12:34:58 AM »
I have had problems with blades from McKanzie shaving blades not being sharp, or not holding their edge. Has anyone else had a problem this season? What other companys have you tried besides Research and H&H? Been screwed around by both them companys also.

She always does a good job.  I hope she keeps doing the taxidermy videos.

And JJ and George did good too.  :)

Lifesize Mammals / Re: Bobcat form for a lynx?
« Last post by BrianHendricks on Yesterday at 11:36:37 PM »
Heads and torsos are relatively close. Lynx being a bit lankier. The legs and feet are much longer on the lynx. A test fit will show you where and how much to lengthen. Compare form pics in the catalogs and you will see the difference in proportions.

Beginners / Re: Dual purpose pedestal mount

Put the square stock in the pedistal.  So in other words the deer will slide onto the stock coming out of the pedistal.  So it want look goofy hanging up with a piece of metal hanging down out of it  . All my floor pedistals I do this way they attach with zero wobble. .
