Title: Rock Waterfall Photos
Post by: mvernelson on August 01, 2007, 07:41:47 PM
Here's the front of a small waterfall I just finished. Thought u guys & gals might enjoy. Rebar armature, Burlap, chickenwire, a hardcoat of concrete, then a second coat of concrete for carving in details.

Fantastic job!!! Could you let me know the concrete mix formula? How do you keep it from cracking? I could go on with a million questions, please give more information. Give any classes or need a laborer?

The mix is simply sand, cement, and some bonding agent. Bonding agent helps prevent it from popping in extreme cold also a good sealer. I mix integral color into the texture coat, that way if a fragment pops off it looks natural. I find this to be rare though.

I don't think I could ever dream of doing something that big, but I'm with everyone else, if you are willing to put in a little time into explaining the process, you have a lot of folks eager to hear about what exactly you did and how you went about doing it.  :)  It's a wonderful piece!  I'd love to hear more about it.
