This bird was something dfferent. We didn't notice it until we were getting ready to clean the birds. It had an olive drabish bill, the feet were more the color of a black ducks, and it's got a tint of green on the top of its head as well. The feathers are darker than a mallard hen.




Some woodies, i'm still not great at woodies but I can get the feathers to line up a little better. I have finish work to do on all these birds.

awesome little hoodie hen. they make such cool mounts. most dont think to mount them but i love merganser mounts. nice job on the bill. color looks great!

Hey Schenk, was that a mottled duck drake in the first two pics. Hard to tell but looks like the mottled drakes we get down here on the coast.

Sorry Schenk, wings look too mallardy not like mottleds. Guess one of the billions colors phases in the mallard bloodline!

Yeah, not a mottled. But with some looking several of us have decided on a black duck hen X mallard hen. Something different and neat.
