Do they always come out looking a bit like a caper and a bit like a blackgrouse, because i have a bird here that looks identical to an adult male caper, but its only a bit bigger than a cock pheasant, i also have what looks like a female black grouse but is twice the size and its not a caper. They are both old mounts i bought because i was intriqued.

John, Yes he came from Wa. kinda hard to believe. Thanks for the nice comments. Francois that is one gorgeous bird !!!!!!! Here is another one I just put together for the drying room. And yes John this came from Wa. too  :) :) ;)

It would be nice to see photos of those bird capercaillie? All the male hybrids I've seen in live and pictures seems to be pretty much same looking than those two above... If hybrid is female I have no clue what it would look a like...

Igor there is not only a (great) caper in your pic...there is also a pair in the backgroud, and something that looks like a dead game to me...
