Here's the best fat cleaner to use to clean the fat between the quills. It took very little time to clean all that fat using this.

A trio of Spruce Grouse, Two from Canada and one from Alaska, I was amazed and the plumage and size differences.

This common is a much nicer bird. Start to finish in under 2 hrs.
