Dear everyone,

now I have tried new material, mammoth tusk and made the same cameos, found it more suitable for the kind of work like this.

I'd be grateful for your comments! And sharing experience!!!

Dmitry

Does anyone know how to "bleach" a moose antler's surface without carving into it?  I am new to working with moose antler.  I want to leave some of the natural surface pattern intact on the back of the antler, but I need the color to be white.  Of course I shouldn't use bleach, but is there a good formula for something that will turn the surface of the antler white without damaging it?

Clay, Gatorjaw,  RumRunner,

thanks a lot for your comments!!!
However now I am working at the background of this last piece of carving - decided to make it a bit lighter for the animals to project and be better outlined.
I'll try to post it here to get your judgement!
