Could I make ripple effects by applying hot glue designs to plexiglass and then covering it with resin. Thanks in advance.

You could do that, be sure the glue is Ultra Clear or it might yellow.

 There used to be a hot melt glue stick just for this purpose sold thru  Hide & Beak Taxi. Supply
