Congratulation to Cary Cochran, an icon in the industry and Casey Watterson, a proven artist, for making the front page of Taxidermy.Net.  The OTA would like to congratulate both of  you on your recent accomplishments at the OTA Championships.  There is always so much talent at the OTA show and this year was no exception.  A special thanks to Amanda Hrabak of New Direction Photography for the outstanding photography work you have provided us the last 2 years.

Thank you as well Ken Edwards for posting!

What an honor is all I can say, and not just about the front cover of taxi-net.  To work with someone like Cary is an experience I won't soon forget he is an unbelievable talent and honorable man.  I was the student on this project trying to learn from the master.  I hope all of you have someone as a mentor to learn and grow from, I have been blessed to have a friend like him.  To all of you guys who do large life size animals I have a new found respect for you all.  These animals have so many things that can go wrong and so much time must be spent to make them right.  Just so all of you know Cary made custom earliners for this cat and the mouth cup was sculpted by him as well.
After all the time put in on this cat we learned allot and had some fun in the process and when it was all said and done I have one very happy client!

God Bless,

Casey Watterson

Im a big Cary Cochran fan so I know Casey likely had fun working with him. Hey how many times did Cary tell you he was "piddlin" ? That used to be his term for work, sitting, or leaning so far back in his chair youd swear it was going over backwards. Congrats.

Bill, you are absolutely right about the term "piddlin".  There were some other new terms I haven't heard before like "Dipity Do", "Hair Gel" to those of us who are less competent.  The phrase "If a man could do this" or "If a man could do that" was used numerous times but it always starts out "If a man".
Don't let me forget how many times he reminded me in the wee morning hours that he is twice my age and that I shouldn't even be tired yet. Just so everyone knows at 64 years of age he could work all of us under the table.

It was a blast!
