Very, very nice work. Shocked  That is pretty much all I can say.  The paint on that fish is absolutly unbelievable.  Very natural, not overdone.  A work of art to say the least.  Job well done!

Well I must say thank you all for such kind words! I do love my work and I love to teach and I want every one I meet to have as fun and enjoy what they do as much as I do. I can tell you that it is not all talent not even close it is just a lot of years of doing it wrong and finding better ways to do it. This is what I teach and I'm glad to see my student s do well with there work too. I et asked all the time why don't I compete any more. Well 2 reasons ones very personal and the other is as a teacher I find much more pleasure in watching some one take what they learned and make the most of it and have there work shin bright and for them to do well. I have had so many great students over the past 16 years of teaching fish taxidermy and so many I call my friend today! Taxidermy has been good to me and it has let me find away to give back to others!

Thank you so humbly and sincerely!
I'm alway available when I can to talk or answer emails as some of you know so don't hessite to talk fish with me. I may not have your answer but we sure can give it a shot!

My Best!

What can I say that hasn't been stated already, Rick. World class is what it is!!! That's just "SICK" (something my son would say). Thanks for sharing that masterpiece. Do I see a hint of rubbed or brushed on dry pigment? The detail is outstanding. Great job!!

This is why I chose Ricky to do the DVD's with. He has some really great techniques to apply color and achieve what you see in that photo. The DVD's will be available later this fall and I will keep everyone posted as they become ready to ship. There is really a lot of work to correctly film and show his techniques which is what these DVD's are all about. Someone at the convention as me why I picked him. They said I should have chosen some better known with more medals. Well, I am sure everone can see why I made the choice I did

I had the great opportunity to learn from Rick, and When I tell some of my customers the little things I do that most don't, they usually give that look of What?Huh  Now you and they can see why the little things matter.
