Brian,

For someone who's not a taxidermist, you're an incredible asset to this site and Forum. The information and photos you have been able to and willing to share are, I'm sure, a blessing to many. I know given my location, it may seem a bit more self serving  ;D but thanks for all of the photos you have posted thus, including these really top notch grayling shots.

This is from a smaller grayling (15"). It was a bit darker (stress?) when the photos were taken, having been brought to me by a friend of mine, though it was alive.

Terry...what type of water are those grayling coming out of......lake or large river?  They have way thicker shoulders than all the small river grayling I catch in the MatSu Valley.

Brian... That particular grayling came from the Wood River, which connects Lake Aleknagik to Nushagak Bay. It was very similar (body wise) to those I was catching on a float trip last fall on the middle fork of the Goodnews River, though the Goodnews grayling all had a unique (in my experience, which I am sure is far less than yours) yellow overcast to them, particularly along the belly. The Wood River is not a large river by any means, especially on the upper end where this was caught.
