I have had a pet wolf for the last 8 years...When she passed away I wanted to have her mounted but no one would do it because they said she was a pet...and I was told that I shouldnt get the hide tanned as it would cost alot and it might not come out right...so I have buried her and when the bugs finish there job (which I would also like to know how long I should keep her in the ground for?) I would like to mount her bones as a skeleton...my problem is Im not sure what is the best way to do this...do I need wire, rods, or just glue it...I really hope the someone can help me as I dont want to lose her, and would like to do this right...Also how should I clean the bones once I dig them back up?
Thank you for any help you can offer me.....

TERRIBLE no one wanted to help you by either mounting or just skinning and tanning! You must have some real bozo taxidermists your way! Did your wolf die from an infectious disease? If not, there was no excuse! I had a pet dog 5 years ago that died and i wanted his skin tanned, couldn't bring myself to do it, and i asked a taxidermist i was working for if he would do it and he said he was afraid of getting cancer from skinning him( he died of lympho cancer)! This trapper i knew also wouldn't skin him even though he offered to months earlier for when the dog died. I was so "buried" in grief i didn't know what to do, so just buried him. I dug him up after 3 years and have all bones except a few claws that rotted away. It would be safe to assume 3 years is a good time frame to wait. But it also depends on what type of soil you have, and how wet or dry the climate is there.Email me and i will be happy to discuss this further.
