Hair slipage on coon

Submitted by Jen on 6/27/00. ( ) 208.243.251.170

I fleshed the coon and saw hair begining to slip on the ear. I was told to soak it in alcohol over night to set the hair. I turned the ears and lips but didn't really flesh the head all that good. I was told to concentrate on the body and not so much the head. So when I take the coon out of the dip should I just freeze it without rinsing or rinse before I freeze? And if I do that will the eyes be ok to turn?

Jen,when you soak an animal in denatured alcohol its better to mount it as soon as possible. If you choose to freeze it ,i would first tumble it,if you try and freeze something after soaking in alcohol it will never freeze solid untill its evaporated out.
