Freeze Drying Antlers

Are there any steps that need to be taken prior to freeze-drying antlers in velvet, other than freezing them and putting them in the machine?

JUST PUT THEM IN THE DRYER AND THEY WILL BE DONE IN ABOUT 7-10 DAYS.
