I trying my first full coyote mount and have a few questions.
The coyote was wet tan, is there anything different in prep work
with a wet tanned hide verses and normal tan and Can I give the hide a
quick wash before mounting due to a slight odor? Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave, you should have no problem with the tan. You prep it the same way as you do you other hides. As for the odor it should go away when it dries.
Don"t hesitate to wash your hide. I"ve washed hides and capes before mounting and I"ve also washed items after skinning and before fleshing. Also use my wifes expensive hair conditioner before mounting some small lifesize animals. Works great.
