Shipping Whitetail CAPES! ?

Submitted by Dennis on 9/3/00. ( TheArtist1973@aol.com ) 152.163.188.68

I'm shipping a whitetail shoulder mount cape this next week and right now it's frozen in a plastic bag. Can I let it thaw and dry before shipping? Or how can I ship it frozen? Who ships things refrigerated? Any packing/shipping advice would be helpful. Thanks!

you didn't mention tanned cape so I'm going to go ahead and assume you're shipping a frozen green cape. My advice is to insulate it well, I use styrofoam boxes that you get Salmon in from Alaska but they're available at many hospitals and medical supply companies for the asking. Wrap it in a couple/few inches of paper and send it "second day"........you should be fine. I believe the cost of refrigerated shipping in probably exorbinant and unnecassary.

Actually, it's been tanned. Oh well thanks for the advice, I'll do that. I just thought it would be easier and lighter to send them thawed and dry.

just hang it up and let it dry out.
