Mohr nasal inserts

New to taxidermy and have seen the Mohr inserts in some of the catalogs but I have no idea how they are installed. I have checked the archives and could find no explanation. Would one of you who has used them please explain the correct way to install them? Thank you.

How to install Mohr Nasal Inserts

To install Mohr Nasal Inserts:

1) Draw several horizontal indicator lines on the muzzle to allow for correct positioning when re-attaching.

2) Cut the nose off the mannikin 2-1/2" from the end with one vertical cut.

3) Hollow out the interior of the mannikin nose using a Dremel or Foredom tool.

4) Glue the Mohr nasal insert on the inside of the mannikin nose using hot melt glue or 5 minute epoxy.

5) Smooth out the exterior nostril transition using Apoxie-Sculp.

6) Re-attach the mannikin nose with Bondo. Line up the horizontal indicator lines from step 1 and hold in place until set.

Thank you Rick Carter
