i recently received a cape i rehydrated it to make some repairs and to take measurements so i can order the correct form . im not quit sure what to do with it in the mean time refrigerate or freeze or what any help would be appreciated.

If you are only going to keep the cape for 2-3 days before mounting then refrigeration is fine. Any longer than that it would be advisable to freeze it until you are ready to mount. Be sure and keep it wrapped-up enough that it doesn't dry out too much during storage, but don't leave "standing" water in the bag either. Most commercial tans can withstand quite a bit of freezing and thawing without ill effects.
