In my home state, West Virginia, Crow are open season year round and not considered a Migratory Bird. You are not required to have a federal license to mount nonmigratory birds. As far as I know you are not required to have a federal license in most states if you are not mounting migratory birds. Of course state requirements vary from state to state. I would suggest that you contact your local DNR ( Department Of Natural Resources ) office. The laws in your state may vary from the laws in mine. Please don't depend on anyone to inform you pertaining to the laws of your state unless you know them to be a venerable representitive of your state. Always refer question of your states laws pertaining to taxidermy, to your DNR office.

Yes, CROWS are right in there with DUCKS, read your copy of the regs. Thats why many states close the season on or two days per week as states are only allowed one hundred sixty four ( could be off a day or two here) days per year.

Toby, I stand corrected. "Optional" is correct. Crows are listed as a migratory bird on page #5, General Provisions 50 CFR 10.13 of the Federal Migratory Birds Regulations. I missed it when I checked. My apology, I will be more thorough in my research before I answer any such questions again. Thank you "Optional"
