this will be my first mount useing a wet tanned cape and im alittle worried about the hide pulling away from the antler burr as it drys what is the best adhesive i can use to insure this wil not happen ?

I like the two part epoxy "epo-grip" put out by Newton Supply, contact Steve S. at nsc@netrus.net for a catolog, WASCO also sells a dry mix "scalp cement" that has also worked well for me, good luck to you..

Be sure to build up around he skull just beneath the burr with Apoxie or a similar material to replace the muscle and other tissue that was removed in prepping the antlers. This is a key step oherwise the hide will pull back. Then glue with epoxi-grip.
I also use a two part epoxy mix just under the antler bur
you dont need tuns of it just spread a nice thin layer
around underneath the antler bur. I then use 4 to 6
paneling nails to secure it until the cape is dry and ready
to have the finish work done then you pull them out. The
paneling nail are preyty easy to hammer right into the bone
and you dont need to put them in very far just far enough so
they are not wiggeling around.
