Hey ###, I was thinking of naming my first kid that. Just kidding. Your asking alot for the limited space we have in this forum. I would reccomend you put the duck in the freezer and buy a good book on bird taxdermy or get a video tape. There are a lot of good ones on the market. They will go in depth from start to finish. There's alot more to it than just pulling the hide off. Good luck.

I think the Stephen Savides tape named "Mounting a Flying Widgeon" (or something of that nature!)is very in depth and probably has the simplest skinning procedure that I have found. Try WASCO or Research Mannikins for the source. I highly recommend the tape. Good luck. ...Rick

Hello ####,

I would highly recomend "Bird Taxidermy Manual" by Breakthrough!
This book shows you all the current techniques, including mounting on wrapped bodies, carved bodies, ridgid foam mannikins and flexible neck mannikins.
It covers standing, flying, sitting, swimming, strutting and dead game poses.
ducks, turkey and even an eagle are mounted in this manual.
The entire series of Breakthrough mannuals are exceptional, and I would highly recomend them!

We sell 23 different videos on bird mounting, an I know that WASCO has a deverse variety of informitive bird mounting videos as well.

If you need anymore help with this matter, feel free to give me a holler at (1-800) 843-3320 or e-mail me at this address

Good luck to you ####.......Dave at VanDyke's
