I have been using bondo in my ears. I use clay for my earbutts. The problems that I am having is after mounting, my ears want to fall and do not want to stay in place. I have been tying them up to the antlers until dry. When I lay the ears back I have nothing to tie them to and they wont stay on there own. Any suggestions?

You should peel the fur side away from the earliner, bondo etc. Clip the portion out at the front of the ear, where the gland is. Now with fairly wet clay make your ear butt, work it smooth onto the liner, paste it up real good, finish inverting, slide the cape into place. Now here is hoping you have mached or bondoed the skull earlier? work the skin around till the ear butts are where you want them, now make your head/skull'ear butt unions. REMEMBER what did the ear but look like before? Use just more than that amount of clay, maybe you should have ruffed the ear butt area up first.
If all else fails use #6 wire to make some sharp pins position butts and drive the pin in, now you can use clothes pins, paper clips, hair clips what have ya to hold them in position untill the glues set up and drying starts, dont forgit the back of the ear butts!
