I recently purchased a commercially tanned arctic fox.I first intended to just let it hang on the wall, but now i am thinking of mounting it. Do I mount the pelt dry or should I prep it another way?I'm used to mounting wet hides with DP. The fox would be my first mount with a true tanned hide. I would appreciate any suggested info on this subject.

Just did one, wet it out with clear water a little fabric softener, very little, measure it go a little less than your measurements.
DONT RETUMBLE IT!
leave it wet while the form and eye come in. Normally these are so FLUFFY when they dry, it realy is incredable. Use a good water based hide paste, repro the nose.
Once it comes in dont be afraid to alter then form or shave it down, this little fur ball will cover your mistakes. There are no feet pads on these so dont worry about that either, I would do the ears with black Apoxie Sculpt give it time to work! You will not need much for a tail a little clay, shove the wire thru it. Good luck the rest is just a small mammal. JC
