How Long?

I have salted my deer cape and its hard, how long will it keep in this
state?I don't plan on mounting for a few months.

almost indefinitely, as long as it's kept dry, you can store it for years.

Salted hide seem to atract the bettles, I would get it in the pickle as soon as possible./
