Yes, My wife does all of our birds and most of the big game work in our shop and since I can I am going to brag about her. She was the Northwest Taxidermy Association's all around Taxidermist last year.

Good Luck

Does your lovely wife have a name? She needs to be congratulated, but you need to stop keeping her secret. Congratulations "Brent's Wife". LOL

And to answer your question dc, there are many young women out there in taxidermy and they tend to have a more delicate appreciation than some of us old coots. If she's interested, there's always room for another artist.

Yep!

The (young) teenage daughter of a friend of mine took home a couple of ribbons at state comps. this year. He had to be very proud, I know I was! My thirteen year old daughter is beginning to show an interest recently and I plan on getting her started soon. Good luck!

You betcha

I'm lucky enough to have my lovely wife Kristy working right by my side lots of the time. I'm sure if you asked her she would say that she wasn't a taxidermist. But she does all the rug work and is usually pretty good about doing whatever else needs done. If you can get your sister interested just make sure to let her go at her own pace. Don't make her do anything that's "GROSS" and she'll learn to love it just like the rest of us do. Before you know it she'll be doing all the gross stuff right along with you.

I have noticed MANY, MANY names of women on this forum! I find this very encouraging! Certainly many more than I ever expected. This pleases me. The consensus seems to be that most do very nice work to boot! SUPER! Keep it up Gals! :-)
