Another DP question

I was just wondering if all the excess dry preservative that is left over when you shake it off of the skin can be used on another skin/mount or if it not suitable for use.

Rick ,
This sometimes depends on what your tanning . When using DP on small mammals, I usually place them in the DP container and rub into the skin and remove . If your tanning larger animals , such as a deer shoulder, I apply a little at a time in each area and rub all of it in before I add any more DP.This will avoid a lot of excess . I wouldn't place bloody or wet excess back into your container . You can take the excess, if you still have some, and rub into the meat removed from fleshing. This will cut down on the smell if you leave this in your shop. Hope this helps .
