Materials and tips for a 16 year old to mount a duck

I am 16 years old. I tried to mount a duck out of a vandykes kit last year and due to sheer confusion and lack of materials and research had to throw the bird away i would like a list of mateials needed a skeleton version of the instructions or any tips ya'll have for me.

easiest bird

Try to find a diving duck to start with, they generally will have a tougher skin to work with. A mid-sized upland bird would also be a good choice.
