I am a bit confused about how to order the correct eye sizes, primarily for ducks. For example, for a Mallard, some supply catalogs suggest size 11,others suggest size 9 or 10. One catalog has the artificial head with the recomended size eye (10). I ordered size 11 eyes before ordering the head, when head came in, the size 11 was too large. A size 10 fit perfect. Need help to clear up this confusion!

Eye sizes vary in all species. In adult birds of the same species, sizes can vary 1 or 2 millimeters. You can enlarge the eye cavity in the artificial head you have, and in all probability, without them appearing too big, use the 11mm eyes. You may also wish to acquire the book, "Guide to North American Bird Eyes Sizes and Colorations by Otto Epping".
