i do agree johns wealth of knowledge has been a credit as like many others but these archives.fair enougth people might get sick of answering the same questions but thats easy fixed dont reply.surely theres other people out there with different ideas that havnt been sugested. but like J.C said check the archives first the awnswer might be there ,but not the right one for some.this might sound silly butim no comp whizz, but would be some way of listing a question to say that it is in the archives,if there was it would save heaps and you could still post it and listen to any different comments.like i said i dont really know anything about comps so exuse me if it sounds like a stupid idea.Craig (only my opinion)

John,

I'm on your side bud. I think your posting was polite and well
organized. It was not threatening or demeaning. It was short and
to the point. Keep up the good writing.

It's a matter of internet etiquette...

This response submitted by Craig on 3/2/00. ( ctracker@rochester.rr.com ) 24.92.226.20

not using all caps. JohnC is right...it is like shouting.

I'll agree with the other Craig on the answering part...You don't have to answer. I made the mistake of commenting to Dave on getting a good book on the subject of casting on a recent post. I could have answered the question, although it would have been quite lenghthy. I chose to instead leave a comment that was slightly out of line. Thanks for tightening me up Dave, sometimes we all need some corrective criticism thrown back at us. And my apologies if I offended anyone.

Guilty

This response submitted by Bob Peasley on 3/3/00. ( ) 12.7.5.24

I guess I am guilty or at least I have been made to feel that way. It seems the very day I first asked a question, the gentleman in question posted his response concerning new people. Sorry John for being such an embarassment to you and your forum. I will be taking your advise in the future and will be more prepared the next time I ask a question. By the way, I sincerely appreciate all those who took the time to answer my questions, however inadaquate they were. I hope John does not hold that against you. I did ask for the WASCO catalog and they are out until May. As to checking the archives, I will do that also. HOWEVER, I do not appreciate being disciplined like a child by someone I do not even know. All of us, at one time or another, were beginners with questions that seemed trivial to the pro's. I do not know John but I am sure he is a pro at what he does. I can only hope that some day he will answer one of my questions with knowledge, as opposed to making me feel quilty for asking. Thank you for your time.

Sorry I Made you P.O. Bob Peasley

Had you read the RULES that Ken set up for the forums, I guess this would not have happened.

I will now join the ranks of the other fine taxidermist. JOhn C

Dang JC...

I TOO thought you were being polite THIS time!! It is nice knowing where those archives are, and how to get to them...AND people will have to be patient with that response as there are so many new faces to explain it to now and then....which is a GOOD thing! Also, there are too many "tones" of voice with which we can apply to the "typed" word. Lets assume it's meant in a conjoling tone shall we? It feels so much better to assume positive over negative. And John C is too the point and very blunt, and we all love him for it don't we??!!!
Thanks JC!
