Bison hair slippage

Can someone tell me if a bisons hair can slip as easily as a deers if not propery taken care of or does it resist a little more. My worry is that im about to do the lutan-f method of tanning and am nervous because i have never done a bison before with this method. I know ,send it to a tannery. thats not my option(expense). its for my own mount.

They seem to be pretty tight haired, as long as it didn't lay too long on the kill floor. The lutan will work great on your bison just make sure you do a lot of thinning on the upper face and top of head and neck area, some of this will be pushing an inch thick on mature bulls. Degrease it good, then after you oil it, leave it hang until the hair is dry before you tumble it, it'll save you a lot of combing!
