I need help help picking out a airbrush and compressor. Since I'm a beginner, I really don't have any idea which one would be the best for me. Brand? double action? single action? compressor? Please i would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice on the right one for me. It will be used mainly for fish as in Stripe bass or Large mouth. All responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work.

How I started

David,

I started with a "Single Action" (and still use one). I like using two hands when I am painting and at the time the single action seemed to be the ticket.. I have been looking at the Aztec's (double action)
because of the ease of changing tips instead of neadles for different
types of work.

If cost is an issue then I would suggest the single action. As far as compressor.. I have used several types and the biggest issue that I found is that you have some sort of pressure and moisture control and keep at least a constant (min.) 20psi (prefer 25-40)

Hope this helps.

Airbrush / Compressor

Hey David,

I would definetly get a double action, hands down! I bought one when
I was first starting out and I will never switch, price is not a different. Go and buy the IWATA Eclipse, it's an awesome gun!!!!!
No changing needles either, which for a beginner could cause you
some problems, the Eclipse sprays a pencil point fine line, as well
as backgrouds, blending fading colors etc. It's kit comes with the
gun hose, 1 or 2 jars, some paint, tools etc. For about $90.00.
As far as a compressor goes, I just bought one from Sears, it's a
Craftsman 5.5 hp, 30 gallon. For about $300.00, (You need a moisture trap also, thats seperate but not expensive) E-mail if you need more info. Good Luck!! Lance
