I am teaching myself the art of taxidermy and I am doing a Raccoon for my first mount, I have already skined it and I know I have to flesh it ( what is a good way to do this step ? ) also what are the steps I should do next ? , do i salt befor I wash ? do I degrese befor I wash ?, how do I preserve the pelt ? in other words what would you do to mount a Raccoon from start to finish. this is not a joke I ame very green at this and i need to know the prosses, I hope someone can help me. Check the archives and search engine for more info. Next and a lot of people hate this, buy a book & or a video. This will help you learn how to do it. It doesn't have to be on a racoon, all mammals are done basically the same way.
After you have read or seen a video fell free to ask a more specific question.

there are no doubt some scriptures on much needed patience. Purchase The Breakthrough Mammal Taxidermy Manual. Retails for 24.95 from WASCO. This should give you a pretty good background and answer most of your questions.
