Bison calf mount "help"

Submitted by pittenger on 3/23/00. ( specialt9@yahoo.com ) 216.241.131.6

My next task in mounting bison is to due a calf in a laying down position. I cant figure out the proper way to skin it. I have trouble figuring out how to tuck and cut properly under the form. Seems like the form will not allow me to tuck much at the legs. Can anyone with this type of mount experiance help me out.

Tucking

I will say that in all lifesize form some tucking is required. You can to this in many ways. I take a 1/4 fordem cutzall bit and in the pit area I grind out a slot of about 1/2 or more depth. When I have one as you discribe I would make the slot 1/2 wide and down in inch or more so you can tuck the lose skin in those areas.
If you don't have a fordem use a dremel or even a drill bit will work fine.

Also you may not even be able to sew up this area. I would suggest you use agood hide paste and just tuck in the skin pin here and there till you are able to sew.
