I am wanting to do a good full size mammal mount, but I am not wanting to do a greasey animal like a raccoon because I just did a flat raccoon rug and it was really hard to do, and I was wandering if a fox is greasey and If anyone has any suggestions for me to do. Thanks in advanced!
I've done foxes and hate 'em. I've messed with coon hides and hate the grease. Bobcats, on the other hand, are short-haired and come with all those handy reference spots to help you ensure proper hide alignment.
Brandon,
I'll have to agree with Lance. Fox skins are very thin
and improper handling can easily tear the skin. Also they are
easy to have hair slip.
If you can get ahold of a bobcat by all means do. They
are a lot easier to do.
