I was just wondering, does anyone know if you need to be licenced in NY state?
Not. NY discontinued their license requirements for taxidermists a couple of years ago. You are expected to keep a log of specimens that enter your shop that include the sportsmen's names & addresses, and make this available to any DEC official who requests it. You are required to have a federal migratory permit if you do waterfowl, and some cities and towns may have business license requirments, along with zoneing codes to deal with. Hope this helps.
