Caruncle Color

How people use the ChemOddities color scheme for the caruncle area on WT deer? They call for a color of mars brown in this area. It consists of 70% mars red, 20% dk brown, and 10% off-white. When I mix up these colors, it seems awfully reddish to me. I've tried to look at a number of references and I've seen everything from a light blend of the above color to a darker grayish color. I've tried this mars brown ,but it just seems to stand out so much. I might try thinning it way down next time. In the ChemOdities schedule, it doesn't say to tone down at all with any other color over this. What do you use in the tear duct/caruncle region? Thanks.
