I'll be doing my first competition this August in NY. I have a cape that has very short hair and seems like a perfect comp cape. My question is what stitch to use? Casting, blind, baseball? Also, what cape thread to use? I have some from Tom Powell that is brown in color and separates to make it thinner. I also saw somewhere in this forum that someone actually pre-sews the cape before mounting it. I don't know if that means that they just puncture the cape wth a needle, so it's easier when it actually comes time to sew? Finally, single thread for the stitches? Thanks.

Start with your tie-off like the baseball stitch.(Left side)
Cross over go down thru the hair side.(right side)
Move down 1/8 or 1/4" push the needle up thru the skin. (right side)
Then cross over and go down thru the hair side. (left side)
etc. etc.
Mark: I take it that your hidden stitch is the blind stitch that I'm refering to. this is the one in the Breaththrough Whitetail manual? My only cause for concern for this stitch is that it shows how the hide pulls together at the seam. If you're looking at the seam from the edge it would look like an obtuse "V". Kind of hard to explain, but if you have that manual, you'll see what I mean. Thanks.
