I've searched the archives diligently, but can't find the answer to this.. While skinning my first cape, I accidentally ripped the ears right down the seems (seperating them front to back), of course the inner skin remained with the cartilidge. I threw the two pieces of carilidge in the freezer and shipped the rest of to be tanned. When time to mount the ears, will I be safe just spraying a fungicidal sealer on the inner ear skin, or should I DP the inner ear skin before glueing to liner? any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys once again!

PS.. This is a deer cape
Jay,I take it that you sent your cape to be Tanned at a commercial
tannery. So I would suggest that you Very Carefully separate the
Inner ear skin from the cartilage,Once separated,Wash the skin
with some Dawn dishwashing liquid, towel dry and use some Liquatan
or similar brush on tanning agent or cream and dont forget to use
the cartilsge to measure the earliners and trim if required.
Once you get the cape and are ready to mount Carefully sew the 2
ear skins with clear nylon thread, then use some epo grip in the ear
liner and mount as usual.I also request that you invest on a Ear
Opening tool(available at WASCO & Most Supply co). Also you need a
Deer mounting video that also shows you how to Skin & Mount.
I hope this helps. If you need more info Email me.
Good Luck
