I shot a nice ten point buck (154.5 Boone & Crockett) during a recent trip to Texas. The antlers, still attached to a portion of the skull, and one square foot of salted hide have been shipped to me. I would like to do an antler mount covered with the hide myself if possible. I am a first-timer when it comes to taxidermy, but I am interested in getting started. What do I have to do to both the hide and the skull in preparation for mounting?
