I was wondering if anyone has seen John Rinehart's videos on fish painting or turkey mounting? Are these good videos for a beginner like me to start with to learn taxidermy from?

Their as good as it gets as far as videos go, not to say that the others arn't good just that Rineharts don't leave much out and are good at explaining any small problems that might pop up that the others seem to leave out. I'am in the process of putting toghter a list of used videos that I,ve collected over the years for sale in the near future, say tuned, keep your eyes on the for sale page. Be paitent and don't try to mount the whole world in a day and you'll do fine.

Hello Chris,

Its titled REAL FISH PAINT SCHEDULES.Its about the best book that I've ever seen for informative instructions on paint several species of fish. It can be used for reproductions as well as skin mount fish. His 1st. volume covers 22 different species and there will be a volume 2 and 3 to be out soon. You just cant go wrong owning this book.

Frank Newmyer also has 3 different informative tapes with reguards to the wild turkey that are excelent.
The first one is titled MOUNTING THE STRUTTING TURKEY.
The second is titled PAINTING TURKEY HEAD AND FEET
And the third one is titled TURKEY HABITAT.
Frank is among the best of the best and has won many national and world titles and serves as judge at many compitions, and is a world of information. These too are excelent videos.

I hope that some of this info. will help you.
