Keith I just recieved a few capes back from you and was wondering should I rehydrate them and measure them or can I use my original meat measurements. 1 more question what is the best way to rehydrate them soak them in water for 30 min then put in plastic bag in the fridge overnight thanks for any info Jamie

you can either mist it with a spray bottle, or sponge or pour it on the leather side. When it starts puddling on the skin just rub it in with your hand and you'll feel it loosen up. Now stretch on your cape, and go ahead and take a measurement right behind the ears and you should find it corresponds real well with the measurement you took after skinning. Sometimes you have to keep in mind things like a deer that was hung by the antlers will give you a meat measurement that seems awful small for the head size, in a case like this you'll get a bigger measurement off the cape and want to use that size, but over all use the neck measurement from when you skinned it.
