i am mounting a texas dall i have removed the horns, know what about the smell. It smells like a barn-yard can anyone give me an idea how to get the smell out.

I don't think that you have an unusual situation.Many larger animals have that beautiful "barnyard" smell. I did some elk this year that were really rank. Just do a good job of washing and it should take care of it. After skinning/fleshing I give my hides a thorough washing in a combination of Dawn and blood release, then into the pickle. Have never had one stink after this.
