Posing a walking goose

Submitted by Chad on 1/28/01. ( )

Going to try a walking goose. With the big necks(11/2x13). Do you have to run the neck wire lower out the bird body or do you bend the s curve out in front of the breast. Or cut out the body more where the neck comes out.If you don't cut out more for the neck woun't the bird look to long? Wish i could explain this better after reading this i really dont understand it real well myself. Doing it walking it's going to have a big s curve somewhere. I'm trying to keep the head low to the body. thanks

You need to get a bird anatomy book and study it. WASCO has a great one and you'll have all your questions answered. Think about this, does the position of a goose's neck location change in relation to its body in real life when it walks? Neither should your mount.
