Morning Joe and welcome to the world of I hope I don't screw up. There are certain steps that are always followed when a hide comes in. I'm sure you read all about them you know flesh, salt etc. But what a client does before it comes in is hard to tell and hard to control.

Now your stating that you can get a pinch full of hair when you pull on it. DON'T PULL. It normal on any hide that if you pull hard enough you will loose hair. I know I'm half bald cause of it. Got two kids and one's 16 also LOL. Relax it's normal.

What hair slippage is when you can actually push on the skin and hair just comes right off the hide. There is a big difference between slippage and just pulling hair. I just had a hide sent to me from a friend and he was worried that a hide might slip. Well he did all the above on preping it right. Well after 1/2 hour in the rehydrating bath the hole face was coming right off. That's slippage. Somewhere down the line the cape was not taken care of before it got to him. The cape was slipping when he was skinning it out. He was hoping I could salavage it, right. So never worry if you have to pull to get hair out, you should be fine and dandy.

Hang hide after pickleing put fan on it over night to dry hair abit remember a little slip can turn into a big slip when left very wet . Moisture promotes bacteria. good luck
