Does anyone know of an alternative to using bondo for earliners? No matter how careful I try to be while using this stuff, I always have a sever skin reaction to it. Last saturday I used it in a coyote mount and today my face and arms are broken out in a rash. I have to find another method of doing the ears. any suggestions? thank you Maxwell

Hey Max, Have you tried a 5 minute Epoxy,or you could use a Good hide past like Epo-Grip.Hope this helps ..Chad
Maxwell,
Chad's advice is good, but I would be more concerned about my shop practices. Are you wearing rubber gloves? If not, why not? I can't stress to all taxidermists the importance of protecting yourself. Many of us, myself included, do a lot of things that expose our hands to dangerous substances that a thin layer of latex, nitrile, or plastic would completely prevent. I react the same way to silicone spray. But I try to wear protective gloves everytime I work with epoxy, bondo, or any of the thinners. I go through dozens of pairs each week. I consider them the price of doing business and I would encourage others to do likewise. I also try to wear a dusk mask when I skin birds to keep from ingesting those tiny down feathers that I cut free. Protect yourself.
