I looked at my Buddys Ron Reynolds Book, and the only I can think of is "I wish I had one when I started!" The Jonas books (available from Jonas Supply will take you farther into taxidermy, than you can imagine. I have just about worn them out. Breakthrough are the best beginner books! The the Jonas will help you bridge the gap. Also most of the tapes are very good. Sally Dahmes from A to Z on white tail deerheads! Then to go a little farther Archie Phillips has one with Don and Connie Stevens, that will push you a bit farther. The Ralp Morrels Museum Quality fish mounting, While you may never do a fish this book had help me a GREAT DEAL in learning to make plaster molds for making my own reference materials.
I dont think there is a book out there a beginner or intermedita should be without. Studying these should be almost seem like you are in desperation to suck up the knowledge. You should be a vacuem for any and all taxidermy books.
I almost for got the one by Tim Kelly its a very good one also.
If nothing else join your state association and go to the meeting, these are almost free, esp, when you consider the time and knowledge gained factor, camp out if you cannot afford a motel, you may even be meeting other newbies, join up with them and get a room together.
